A lonely shadow lurks in the hallway.
It’s not moving, it may as well be inanimate. It’s always static when people look in its direction, but the next moment you lose sight of it, it’s gone.
It’s spoken of with disgust amongst those who’ve witnessed it. Its name is scarcely mentioned.
It hasn’t spoken once, if it even has a mouth at all. It has no voice, yet it makes a statement anyway:
“Leave me alone.”
